Your Workplace Laboratory Medicine Värmland operates throughout the region and consists of four medical specialties: Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Pathology, and Transfusion Medicine. We currently have 315 employees in our accredited operation and have the mission to offer blood collection, prepare and analyze samples, and produce quality-assured analysis results, diagnoses, and diagnostic information with high service quality. We are now seeking a biomedical analyst with a particular interest in hematology for our team at Clinical Chemistry in Karlstad. At the Clinical Chemistry unit at Central Hospital, approximately 70 employees work in a 24/7 operation. With us, you will become a key person in diagnostic work with special responsibility for cell assessments. Your Work Tasks We are a service organization where we perform analytical work primarily in the areas of general chemistry, hematology, and coagulation, but also in the specialized areas of immunochemistry, protein chemistry, toxicology, and pharmacology. We also perform blood collections, functional examinations, and manage the anticoagulation clinic. This is a position for you who enjoys analytical depth – where every detail, color shift, and morphological deviation matters. The role includes microscopy of peripheral blood as well as assessment of synovial crystals and urinary sediment. When assessing peripheral blood, you work in pairs. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for you who are a licensed biomedical analyst. In this role, you will primarily work within hematology including microscopic assessment and cell morphology. The work requires you to be thorough, well-organized, and have good communication skills. You thrive in a changing environment and enjoy working at a fast pace. You are also flexible and confident in your professional role and collaborate easily. To succeed with the task, you need to have decisiveness while maintaining focus and being patient. A holistic perspective and good judgment are two important qualities in the role. Since all our procedures are written in Swedish, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required. Previous experience in the field is highly desirable.
