Business Overview Do you want to lead and develop a well-established library operation in a municipality where culture and literature hold a strong position? Olofström Municipality is now seeking an engaged and confident Library Director who wants to shape the future of libraries. About the Organization Olofström Library is a well-established operation with strong internal and external collaboration. The municipality has strengthened its position as Blekinge's literary hub through its investment in Jämshög as an international book village. The operation includes a main library in the Culture House and two extended-hours branches. Duties and Responsibilities As Library Director, you will have overall responsibility for operations, budget, and staff. You will lead an experienced and committed team of eight people and drive the library's continued development in close collaboration with Blekinge Libraries, schools, Region Blekinge, community organizations, and other key stakeholders. Your main responsibilities: • Lead and develop library operations • Manage budget, results, and personnel • Prepare decision-making materials and drive development initiatives • Collaborate with internal and external partners • Participate in day-to-day operations and represent the library externally Your Profile We are looking for a confident, clear, and communicative leader with a genuine interest in libraries' role in society. You are curious, development-oriented, and comfortable combining strategic work with operational presence. We expect you to have: • Academic education, degree in library and information science or other relevant education • Work experience in the library field • Strong knowledge of the digital society and democratic issues • Knowledge of applicable legislation in the field • Fluent Swedish language skills, both oral and written It is a merit to have experience with personnel and work environment responsibility with documented leadership training, as well as experience with budget and financial responsibility.
