WORK DUTIES Do you want to contribute to strengthening society's resilience? We are seeking a preparedness coordinator who wants to be part of developing Ockelbo Municipality's work in crisis management, civil defense, and continuity management. As a preparedness coordinator, you have a central role in developing the municipality's ability to prevent, resist, and manage societal disruptions in both peacetime and during heightened readiness. You work closely with management, departments, and organizations and contribute to cohesive and long-term preparedness work. The role is both strategic and operational, which means you translate overarching requirements within civil defense and crisis management into practical actions in operations. The work duties include • Contribute to coordination and development of civil preparedness work • Support operations in continuity management and robustness efforts • Participate in planning for heightened readiness and total defense • Work with supply preparedness and critical societal functions • Plan and conduct training, exercises, and knowledge-building initiatives • Collaborate with authorities and other actors within total defense You work together with colleagues in the security unit and have an important role in creating consensus and engagement in the organization. The assignment also involves collaboration with external actors and participation in regional networks and exercises. The position is ongoing with a scope of 50%. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with relevant college or university education in preparedness and crisis management, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have several years of experience working in crisis management, civil defense, or total defense, and good knowledge of legislation, governance, and national requirements in the field. Furthermore, you have experience developing plans, processes, governing documents, and continuity management. You express yourself very well in Swedish in both speech and writing. Meritorious for the position is experience from the public sector, preferably municipal operations, as well as work with heightened readiness. You have knowledge of supply preparedness and critical dependencies, experience with collaboration within total defense, and are experienced in planning and leading training and exercises. As a person, you are structured, analytical, and driven. You have the ability to translate strategic goals into practical implementation and thrive in a role where you collaborate with many different actors. You communicate clearly and pedagogically and have a talent for creating engagement and trust in matters concerning preparedness and societal security. The position is classified and subject to security vetting with background checks according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). Approved security vetting is a requirement for employment. A driver's license is a requirement. Interviews may be held continuously during the application period. Employment type: Permanent employment. Duration: Start date: 2026-09-14. For the interview, you need to bring a valid passport or national ID card. If you are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EES, you must also be able to provide proof of your right to work in Sweden by presenting a valid residence and work permit. According to the municipality's decision on background checks, anyone offered employment must provide an extract from the criminal record before an employment agreement can be signed.
