Treatment Secretary Committed to Creating Life-Changing Impact
Description:
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for adolescents with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also manages closed youth care facilities. We operate youth homes and care facilities for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you contribute to creating life-changing impact. SiS Youth Home Brättegården is located just outside Vänersborg. We admit non-school-age girls with psychosocial problems, mental health issues, involvement in crime, and substance abuse. Job Description Do you want to make a difference for vulnerable adolescents? Are you passionate about treatment and engaging people in the work surrounding it? Then the position of Treatment Secretary at SiS Youth Home Brättegården is meaningful work for you. Each unit has a unit manager, a group leader, and a treatment secretary—these three positions together form a unit team. Your role as treatment secretary is organizationally placed under the quality manager and is tasked with coordinating and planning care and treatment for the adolescents living in the unit. You work closely with the group leader, who plans, coordinates, and operationally leads the daily work in the unit, while supporting the unit's staff in their work with the adolescents based on the treatment plan you have developed in your role. You are engaged by involving and making the adolescent a participant in each step of the treatment process. You are responsible for evaluating treatment interventions together with the adolescents and anchor all processes with the unit manager, group leader, and unit staff. You plan and lead treatment team meetings and subsequently guide the treatment collective toward established goals in daily work. You handle coordination meetings with external parties and coordinate work around needs assessments and investigations. The work is varied and demands flexibility and responsibility. It involves, to a considerable extent, being a structural support—thorough and organized. You understand the value and connections of collaboration; it is natural for you to guide and support your colleagues. You are the initiator who anchors and implements decisions. Otherwise, the position is flexible in that you work independently to the extent you wish, while also having the opportunity for regular meetings with other colleagues in the same position where you exchange experiences, quality-assure interventions, and stay updated on new guidelines and aligned work practices. Around you, you have a range of different positions with long-standing and broad expertise, which facilitates your work and enriches your daily life. Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our interactions, our commitment, and our approach. Qualifications We are seeking a person with a genuine interest in youth care who is eager to participate in developing the operations and methods used. As a person, you need to be attentive and affirming in your interactions with adolescents, capable of building alliances and creating cooperation even with adolescents with challenging behavior, and able to inspire trust and confidence. You must also have: Relevant university education such as a degree in social work or other behavioral science education that SiS considers equivalent and that includes at least 180 credits. Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both in writing and verbally. Class B driving license, as the work sometimes involves travel outside the institution We consider it a merit if you have experience in care and treatment work within social services, psychiatry, or criminal justice. Great weight will be placed on personal qualities and suitability. At SiS, we value good collegial relationships. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good cooperation. Read more about our collegial culture.
