The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Facility Tysslinge, located outside Södertälje, receives non-school-age boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminality and substance abuse. Job Description SiS Youth Facility Tysslinge is an institution in the highest security classification that receives young people with high risks of threats, violence, and escape. The institution has a total of seven departments that receive young people placed under the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU) and young people sentenced under the Closed Youth Care Act (LSU). One of the departments consists of places for young people who are cared for in isolation (VIE) for a period. The majority of our young people are often in a legal process or already sentenced for serious crimes and have connections to criminal networks. In your role as treatment pedagogue/treatment assistant, you work in a team and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people with us receive the structure, security, care, and treatment they need. We meet young people in crisis, which means we should support the individual in their daily life through individually tailored and qualified care and motivational work with clear structures. With the support of your and your colleagues' knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work for planning and monitoring treatment. During daytime, you also function as a student assistant and help support the young people's schooling and leisure activities. Since SiS Youth Facility Tysslinge has the highest security classification within SiS, it means that you need to work with high risk awareness. You contribute to maintaining security in accordance with our written instructions and procedures. This is a job for you who has the stamina to stay and who wants to create safety and security in the young people's often very difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. It involves conflict management and in some cases physical interventions, which as an employee you will receive mandatory training in. The employment begins with a mandatory introduction week, which is a prerequisite for starting work on the department. Training will be held at Tysslinge, with the first session after the summer starting in week 35. We have primarily a need for hourly substitutes during daytime, evenings, and weekends; night work can also become relevant. The majority of our work shifts are long (depending on your availability). Opportunity to work more during summer periods will be available. Qualifications We strive for a staff group with various competencies in treatment work. As a treatment pedagogue, you should have: Completed upper secondary education Diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or a diploma from a university that we assess as equivalent Experience of youth-related work Good Swedish in speech and writing Meritorious: Class B driver's license If you have experience working with young people in vulnerable situations If you have training in MI (Motivational Interviewing) Under the new Social Services Ordinance (5 chap. 4§ Social Services Ordinance (2025:468)), we only in special exceptional cases employ persons who do not meet the requirements of at least two years of post-secondary education. In such cases, these persons are employed in the position of treatment assistant. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Employment: Special fixed-term employment, hourly substitute work as needed. Work hours: Primarily daytime, evenings, and weekends. Night work can also become relevant.
