The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth facilities and homes for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. We have operations in Fjugesta, three miles west of Örebro, and a satellite unit in Granhult, three miles north of Lindesberg. The girls come to us because they have psychosocial issues as well as problems with criminality or drug abuse. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth/clients toward new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to the routines on the unit functioning as they should. You play a major role in stability and safety for our youth/clients, and are the foundation in daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking and more. You work to maintain order and safety at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work to build secure relationships and help ensure our youth/clients receive the safety and security they need to break established patterns of behavior. Together with your team of engaged colleagues such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. In the training, theory is combined with guided introduction, and the training equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications Your personal suitability is the key to vital change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a well-grounded positive view of people, great empathic ability and an ability to create good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to work with others and willingly share your knowledge with colleagues. You must also have: At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or other equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science or another relevant subject area.* Class B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing Meritorious Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, such as prison officer Security guard training Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, such as handler at the detention facility Education in care and welfare We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
