At the emergency department for children and youth in Karlstad, children and adolescents up to 18 years old are cared for. The Emergency Department for Children and Youth is positive about the possibility of combining positions between units. The pediatric emergency department is a 24-hour operation with working hours that include day, evening, and night shifts. Your Responsibilities As a nurse, you work in a team with pediatric specialists, nursing assistants, pediatricians, surgeons, and orthopedists. Together you will conduct early assessments of children seeking emergency care. As a nurse, you will work independently with standardized procedures. Your responsibilities consist of prioritizing children based on medical need and performing individually adapted nursing and medical interventions. We always adapt care according to what is best for the child and family. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for someone who wants to work with children and youth in need of emergency care and is a licensed pediatric nurse, or a licensed registered nurse with at least one to two years of experience from acute, inpatient, and/or pediatric care. We would like to see that you are good at building positive relationships, are communicative, positive, and enjoy taking on new challenges. You enjoy work that varies in pace and care level and thrive working in a team but can also work independently. You plan your work well and can make decisions based on the information you have.
