Now you have the opportunity to work as a custody officer with us in Halmstad. As a custody officer, you will be part of a small group of custody officers led by a group chief. You will work with supervision and monitoring of persons deprived of liberty and assist with searches, sampling, body searches, photography, evidence collection, and fingerprint examinations. Your duties also include monitoring and transporting persons who are to be questioned or transported. The handling of persons deprived of liberty must be done correctly and in compliance with due process. Other administrative tasks that support operations may occur. Qualifications This is an opportunity for you who have: • a passed upper secondary school diploma or what the employer considers equivalent • a strong interest in working with people and see a challenge in the fact that the work can sometimes be demanding • a B-class driver's license (manual) • good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English It is meritorious if you also: • have completed the police's custody officer training with a passing grade • have completed the criminal justice service's training with a passing grade • have passed security guard training • have previous work experience working with/meeting people in vulnerable and/or problematic situations, for example from healthcare, psychiatry, school, criminal justice, security work, or event security • have experience with administrative tasks such as documentation skills Personal Qualities: We are looking for you to conduct yourself with maturity, integrity, and to act in a calm and professional manner even in stressful situations. You have good self-awareness, empathetic abilities, and you can adapt your approach and demeanor for conflict prevention purposes. As a custody officer, you apply a high security mindset, which means you are reliable in situations where conflicts may arise and you are skilled at both collaborating and working independently depending on the situation. The role requires that you have the ability to prioritize and quickly switch between tasks and pace, as well as take own initiatives in your work. Since there is physical work involved, we also require good physical fitness. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
