Our health and care unit is now seeking an occupational therapist who is passionate about elderly people with complex needs and their ability to feel autonomous, independent, and engaged. We need to expand our team with an occupational therapist for a limited period. Are you that occupational therapist? Järfälla Municipality has chosen to organize all licensed personnel working in elderly care and disability services in a single unit: the Health and Care Unit (HSE). You will be employed by the HSE and your work days will be at our care and residential facilities throughout the municipality. The Health and Care Unit consists of a highly skilled team that works together with enthusiasm, responsibility, and humility. We help advance healthcare and occupational therapy together. Through regular team meetings, we ensure we share each other's knowledge and build strong team cohesion. WORK DUTIES As an occupational therapist with us, you will work alongside physiotherapists, nurses, and care personnel at the residences. Together we work to create a good quality of life for elderly residents and ensure their well-being. As an occupational therapist, you will work with residents to find the best ways to use their own abilities in daily life. You support and motivate people to develop and maintain their physical, cognitive, and social abilities. Main responsibilities: • ADL assessment. • Functional assessment. • Guidance and training for care personnel. • Support/guidance in areas of cognition, communication, and environment. • Prescription/provision of assistive devices. • Documentation in patient records. • Transfer training for staff. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone passionate about autonomy for people with complex needs. You are a licensed occupational therapist with preferably at least 1 year of professional experience. We would appreciate if you have previously worked in elderly care. You communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and are precise in your communication. Of course, you have good computer skills. The position requires you to be calm and stable, have good collaboration skills, and a structured work approach. It is important that you are comfortable working independently and can easily adapt to changing circumstances.
