We are a politically governed service organization where residents are our stakeholders. Together, we find new ideas and solutions that contribute to residents' quality of life, sustainability, health, integration, and reduced exclusion. Right now, something big is happening in Valsta in Sigtuna Municipality. In the middle of the town square, a brand new cultural center—Mimer—is being built. The building is designed so that both residents and organizations can meet and develop in new ways. Behind the large windows, dynamic content is emerging. Here, a library, media studio, creator workshop, stage, café, meeting rooms, and public services come together under one roof. Together, these activities will form a vibrant cultural center that contributes to a safe and sustainable Valsta. 1 position(s). WORK RESPONSIBILITIES Do you want to be part of creating something completely new where art, culture, and flavors meet? As we approach the turn of 2026/27, we are opening the new cultural center Mimer in Valsta, and we are now seeking an engaged and creative art and café manager who wants to be there from the beginning. Here, a vibrant art café will be created where creativity and fine flavors meet in an environment inspired by art and culture from around the world. We want to invite visitors to participate and create a place where people meet and are inspired. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for developing and running the café operations while also building the artistic activities in the café. You will work operationally in the café but also creatively and developmentally with artistic activities and experiences for visitors. Your responsibilities will include: • Manage and develop café operations. • Create a welcoming environment where food, culture, and art meet. • Plan and conduct artistic activities in the café. • Involve and invite visitors to participate and create. • Collaborate with artists, cultural actors, and other partners. • Contribute to the development of the cultural center's content and expression. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with: • Experience working in café operations. • Basic education in food safety and handling. • Knowledge of and/or experience in artistic creation. • Ability to practice, teach, or lead others in artistic creation. We would like you to have: • Experience or education in contemporary artistic techniques. • Experience with or knowledge of running a café, preferably your own business. You have a strong interest in art and want to actively contribute to giving more people access to and the opportunity to express themselves through art. To succeed in this role, we see that you are a creative and development-oriented person with the ability to create new experiences and contribute ideas that advance the operations. You are confident and stable in your way of leading both operations and people, and you have natural collaboration skills and enjoy working with others. At the same time, you are results-oriented and have the ability to turn ideas into practice, create structure in operational work, and make things happen. You are also someone who likes people and meetings and enjoys working in a social and vibrant environment where you actively contribute to community and participation.
