At the Department of Data and Electrical Engineering, education is provided in computer science, electronics, electrical engineering, and sound production. Research at the department is conducted at the research center Sensible Things that Communicate (www.miun.se/stc) and focuses on sensor-based systems and services for use in Internet of Things and artificial intelligence. Job Responsibilities As a teaching assistant, you will have the opportunity to build your merits and deepen your skills in computer science, teaching, and leadership. This position consists of general tutoring in computer science at the "data lab." The data lab provides support for those who find any course particularly challenging, while also fostering community among computer science students by offering an opportunity to study together. The data lab is currently held on campus on Thursdays between 3 PM and 6 PM. Qualifications A person employed as a teaching assistant must be eligible according to the requirements described in Mid Sweden University's employment regulations. Eligible for employment as a teaching assistant is a person who is admitted to education at the basic or advanced level. Additionally, you must have completed at least 60 credits in computer science. You have good oral and written skills in Swedish and English. You are accustomed to studying in groups and planning your studies well. Selection Criteria Selection criteria applied in the recruitment process are your academic merits, experience, and suitability in relation to the courses to be tutored. It is meritorious if you have previous experience in mentoring, as a teacher, coach, or leader. It is also meritorious if you speak and write one (or several) of the following languages: Arabic, Kurdish, Persian, Somali, or Tigrinya. You should have good collaboration skills while also being able to take independent responsibility. Processing Preparation of the employment follows the procedures specified in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance and continues in accordance with Mid Sweden University's employment regulations. Employment and Start Date The employment comprises one or more positions at 5-10% of full-time during all or part of the period. Start date September 1, 2026, or by agreement, but no later than May 31, 2027. The employment may be renewed in accordance with Chapter 5, Section 12 of the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100).
