JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a preschool assistant, you will help drive, develop, and document pedagogical work in accordance with the preschool's curriculum and mission. Together with your colleagues, you plan, document, implement, evaluate, reflect on, and analyze activities in relation to children's development and learning and from a Sami perspective, both individually and as a team. You actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with others at the preschool. You assist with other work at the preschool. The preschool assistant participates in play, movement, and activities, and helps with meals, dressing, and nap time. A large part of the activities take place outdoors in the preschool yard, both during winter and on snow-free ground. As a preschool assistant, you have supervision responsibility for the children and must be able to move freely even outside established pathways. The preschool teacher has pedagogical responsibility, but the assistant also participates in pedagogical planning. Documentation and planning of various indoor and outdoor activities are important parts of the work. QUALIFICATIONS You are a trained preschool assistant or have other education that the employer deems equivalent. You master Sami, both orally and in writing. You are well familiar with the Preschool Curriculum. You enjoy being outdoors and using nature as a starting point for children's learning. You have experience with pedagogical documentation and systematic quality work. You are a positive and confident person. You can work independently and have an easy time building good relationships with children and adults. You see children as competent and resourceful individuals. You contribute to the preschool's values work through a democratic approach that encourages participation and collaboration. You see IT as a natural part of working with children and as a tool in systematic quality work. It is advantageous if you have experience working with children who need special support in their development for various reasons. You have a positive view of people and the ability to build good relationships as well as the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts. You are careful, flexible, and responsive to children's needs and enjoy working with children and youth. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
